Deleting in progress « on: October 23, 2009, 10:06:46 AM » Author: lantern_vision
Hi,

I wanna let everybody know that so far I have deleted many pictures from my existing albums. My original gallery before deleting was containing 1121 pictures. At the time being I have something like 929 +- pics. If needed I can delete my whole albums and start all over again. Pls let me know about that issue. And all of my pictures were re-sized and were not presented here in their original kb ratios. And I wanna learn about how much space my gallery covers in LG? If this can be listed it can be more helpfull for us to move much more healthier.

Btw, some unused accounts and their huge albums are still standing with no erase at all.

I delete all of my pictures. Of course I hadn't much as you  8), but I start over.
I think it's important in the future to maintain your album regularly, by deleting unviewed or impopular pics. It will prevent from happening this again.

Yeah I agree, I guess you have deleted many of your pictures far more before the existance of this problem. You had a referance like gallery from which time to time I was surfing in. I hope this problem will be solved soon and you will also upload your nice pieces. I am looking forward to that... :)

I agree with lantern_vision. It is nice to know how much space we already used member for member. For myself I am at deleting, but I have problems in special times . ???
And the members, which are not in this moment in LG (, I mean not everytime , we have enough time to spend the time in LG ,) but this little gallerys, which picture-owners are in moment not here and can not see this action; they should have more time for this and should get personal mails. I find everyone should get mails , what to do.- I find we need a little bit more time ,than this will work well.
Thank you.

Guys:

No, we are not asking you to delete ALL your pictures. Only uninteresting pictures with few hits and no comments, etc. It's up to you if you want to delete all your pictures, it's NOT a requirement that we are asking for. Hope this is clear to you guys. By the way thank you for your cleaning efforts, keep it up.

One thing I noticed is that I hadn't been so careful about re-sizing pictures lately as I thought we had plenty of space. So I went through and deleted everything above 200kB in my galleries unless there was a reason to keep the magnified size (particularly good picture, or special details). I plan to re-upload many of those pictures again but at a much reduced size. Most of my older stuff was less than 99kB and those pics looked fine - I could upload six of those for the space one of my later photos took up.

The problem is of course, I lost comments. It would have been nice to be able to delete just the full size version and keep the reduced one (the size you automatically see without clicking on the image to get the pop-up window).

I have started to delete pics,I will delete almost everything and then re-upload the pics after they are compressed more than I originally did.I just need to make a record of the specs. of the lamps etc. so the info isn't lost when I upload them again.

About the only stuff I am removing is that which has no commenting, as the commentary has value.
