Hey all! 8) Just a question, how long are 25w floro lamps? My advance gold lable hoem brite ballast says it can run 40, 34, and 25w lamps. Can i run a F30T12 on it or any other tubes? :wndr:

In this context I believe they're referring to the 4ft T12 25w lamps. As for running a F30T12, most Canadian market ballast allowed it on the labels but the American market ones didn't for some reason.

The other common 25w lamp is the F25T8, a 3ft T8 intended as a energy saver alternative with ballast change to F30T12.

Wern't those 25w lamps a residential epac exception that where halophosfate? Maybe the no 30w lamps is some regulatory thing idk. :wndr:

Yeah I think they were. In fact I've heard you can run them on regular 40w ballasts just fine but with a shorter life. They were designed for those residential shoplite style ballasts that underdrove lamps.

Yeah I think the 30w thing might be regulatory. On some of mine the 30w listing notes it as CSA only. CSA and UL regulations are similar but there are some minor differences I believe.
