Are there any sports stadiums that still use 1000w mercury vapor bulbs? « on: October 18, 2020, 03:25:56 AM » Author: WorldwideHIDCollectorUSA
Even though most sports stadiums use metal halide for their lighting, are there any stadiums that still use outdated mercury vapor fixtures running 1000w H36 bulbs in the US?

I don’t know, but that would definitely be cool to see. All of the stadiums or fields near me use 1500w metal halide floodlights that are all remote ballasted. The ballasts are contained within a single ventilated enclosure about halfway up the pole.

I’ve always been interested in all kinds of lighting, mainly incandescent and HID, and especially all kinds of sodium lamps (HPS/LPS). I’ll tolerate LED but I’m not a fan of it.
I’m not proud to say that my city has Devolved to LED.

I wonder if some stadiums used incandescent, HPS, carbon arc lamps or another lighting source.  :wndr:

There's a ballpark locally that uses a mix of 1000w mercury and metal halide lamps in early 1960s fixtures.
